Seminar Title: America Today: Race, Class and Affirmative Action


Do you want to deepen your understanding of the impact of systemic, institutional racism and how it can be dismantled?

Please join our year-long, monthly seminar called, “RACE TOGETHER: Learnings about Race and Racism in America” led by Prof. Arturo Pierre Lewis, 7PM – 8:30PM ET on the third Tuesday of each month on Zoom.

Seminar Description: A socio-historical approach to systemic racism. The identification of systemic racism and a study of power and control in American culture and institutions, and a follow-up discussion on taking action.

Seminar Leader: Rev. Dr. Arturo Pierre Lewis, Senior Pastor at Emmanuel Church in Ridgewood NJ, a specialist in Diversity Studies, teaches “Institutional Racism in America,” at William Paterson University and Passaic County Community College. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, Arturo Pierre Lewis also holds a doctorate in Public Theology from Drew University Theological School. He is a former semi-professional baseball player and radio host and serves on the Board at the Ridgewood YMCA.

The seminar is OPEN TO ALL.

The Monthly Seminar meeting starts at 7:00PM – 8:30PM ET, each 3rd Tuesday on Zoom followed up by a small group, “Mid-way Moment” and podcast, “Race Together, Some More” later each month. This seminar series is open to all and registration is required.
